A Google Cloud outage has brought nearly a dozen popular online sites including Snapchat and Spotify down for thousands of users across the globe.

The service page for Google Cloud appeared to have a network issue after 12pm ET, the Daily Mail reported. Webpages linked to Google Cloud showed 404 errors.

Several sites on Twitter indicated they were aware of the Google Cloud crash.

Snapchat support tweeted: ‘Many Snapchatters are having trouble using the app. Hang tight, we’re working on a fix. In the meantime, we recommend staying logged in.’

Meanwhile, Spotify said it was experiencing ‘some issues right now and are checking on them’. More than 50,000 Spotify users reported having problems.

Google released a statement acknowledging the network issue affecting its Cloud at 12.10pmET.

‘We apologize to all who are affected by the disruption,’ statement read. ‘Diagnosis: Customers may encounter 404 errors when accessing web pages. Workaround: None at this time.’

About seven minutes later, Google Cloud posted that ‘the issue with Cloud Networking has been partially resolved’.

‘Customers will be unable to apply changes to their load balancers until the issue is fully resolved,’ the post states. ‘We do not have an ETA for full resolution at this point.’
