A new Apple TV+ show The Last Thing He Told Me will feature Jennifer Garner instead of Julia Roberts as its headline act.

EXCLUSIVE: Jennifer Garner is set to headline and executive produce Apple TV+ limited series The Last Thing He Told Me. Based on the New York Times No. 1 bestseller, the series is produced by Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine, who optioned the book from author Laura Dave and serves as the studio on the project with 20th Television.

Garner replaces Julia Roberts, who had to cancel because of a scheduling issue. The show is an adaptation of Laura Dave's book by the same title, and follows "a woman (Garner) who forms an unexpected relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while searching for the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared."

The show will also be executive produced by Garner, along with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine. Garner is also reportedly set to star in the TV+ series My Glory Was I Had Such Friends, neither show has been officially announced by Apple.

Apple recently added Tom Hanks blockbuster Finch, which reportedly posted the biggest opening weekend for Apple TV+. From Wednesday:

"Finch," the new adventure drama film starring Tom Hanks, began streaming on Apple TV+ last Friday.

According to a new report from Deadline, "Finch" has surpassed "Greyhound (another Tom Hanks film) with the biggest opening weekend for an Apple TV+ film yet.
