Swing into action and claim your copy of Skyward Sword HD.

With Zelda's 35th Anniversary not too far away, it wasn't surprising for Nintendo to reveal that Skyward Sword, an older Zelda title, was getting ported onto Nintendo Switch. It's an action-adventure title that explores the origins of Hyrule. Link is out to save princess Zelda from a horrible figure named Ghirahim and must put an end to the monstrous Demise. He'll travel to several different places and take advantage of a host of gear.

If you're just as excited as I am to bring this tale to Switch, then you'll want to preorder it right away. We can also assist you with the Zelda Joy-Con preorder. Continue reading to learn how to preorder Skyward Sword HD.

Skyward Sword amiibo

Skyward Sword was initially released on the Wii years before amiibo were first introduced for the Wii U and 3DS. But Nintendo has since released a Link Skyward Sword amiibo and has announced a Zelda & Loftwing amiibo that will release on the same day as the HD remaster. Scanning the Zelda & Loftwing amiibo allows Link to warp to the sky from just about anywhere when he's on the ground. And if the player scans the amiibo again when he's in the clouds, he'll return to the spot on the ground where he last was.

Strangely enough, the Link Skyward Sword amiibo doesn't look like it does anything with the game considering Nintendo's website specifically states:

The Zelda & Loftwing amiibo figure is the only amiibo that can be used in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.

Even with that being the case, it's still an awesome figurine to collect. Want to get your hands on these amiibo? The preorder page for the new Zelda & Loftwing amiibo is up but hasn't gone live yet, but the Link amiibo is already available for purchase.

This beautiful new amiibo depicts Zelda and her Loftwing in the same positioning as the watercolor artwork originally made for the game. Scanning it allows Link to warp between the sky and ground areas of the game. It releases on the same day as Skyward Sword HD, July 16.
