Apple's App Store search suggestions are now live for easier discovery

What you need to know

  • Apple has enabled App Store search suggestions for all users.
  • Users will see suggested words when doing a search in the App Store.

It should now be easier to find apps you didn't know existed.

After initially testing it with a number of users earlier in the month, Apple has now enabled App Store search suggestions for everyone in the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia. The feature, which Apple also informed developers about, will see suggested words appear when someone does a search in the App Store.

The feature is designed to make it easier for users to find apps that they perhaps didn't know they were looking for, with Apple suggesting words based on the results of a completed search.

The App Store provides a safe and trusted place for users around the world to discover and download your apps. And now with search suggestions, it provides another great discovery method. When users search on the App Store, they see suggested search terms related to what they're looking for. Tapping a suggestion adjusts their search, so they'll easily find even more apps that might fit their needs. App Store search is one of the main ways that users discover apps, and developers are already seeing more downloads from those who use these suggestions.

Apple also showed the feature off on Twitter.

Users in the regions mentioned above should be able to take the new search suggestions for a spin right now.
